Swami DayanandSaraswati, founder of DAV, spent his entire life serving the underprivileged people. Continuing with principles of humanity set forth by him, NSS unit of DAV College organized a blood donation camp in coordination with PGIMER, Chandigarh.  Total 180 units of blood were collected during this camp. Mr. Bikram Rana, Liasion Officer, NSS (UT) was the Chief Guest for the occasion. He praised the efforts of DAV college NSS volunteers and Program officers in working towards the noble cause of blood donation. The President and the other executive members of Lions Club Harmony, Chandigarh were also present on the occasion. Principal Dr. B.C. Josan asserted that blood donation is not only a service to humanity but is also a way to a healthy life. Blood donation reduces the risk of liver and heart ailments caused by iron overload in the body. Blood donation helps in improving cardiovascular health and reducing obesity. He complimented the NSS units for their selfless efforts towards blood donation in the camps, as well as for reaching to help the community always and congratulated the Program officers of NSS Dr. Kulvir Sra Dhindsa, Prof. Amitabh Dwivedi and Dr. Raman Kamboj for their selfless efforts and applauded their spirit and zeal of service to humanity. The donors were also presented gifts and certificates.
