convocation ceremony holds a very special place in the college life of the students. Keeping the trend alive, D.A.V. College, Sector 10, Chandigarh organized Convocation for the postgraduate students of the college on the 30th May, 2018. The degrees to the Arts (169 students), Science (254 students) and Commerce (87 students) postgraduate students were distributed. In Arts, MA English, Economics, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology in sciences- Msc IT, Maths, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry and Zoology, in Commerce-MCom, MCom B.E. and 48 PGDCA  degrees were awarded.  The chief guest of the convocation was Dr. Paramjit Singh Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, Punjab.  He gave a very inspirational convocation address. He encouraged the students to work hard, achieve their dreams and make the best of smallest of the opportunities. He also advised them to inculcate good virtues and live a life that is relevant to the society and to the nation. He insisted the students to change according to the situations and gave tremendous confidence to the young graduates. He cited the example of Nokia, Kodak and Canon to appraise the students to change and update with the changing situations. He narrated stories to inspire the students. He told the students to be proud of the fact that they belong to the DAV group. According to him this was something they were going to miss and be proud of when they move on in life. He felt nostalgic as he remembered the main auditorium to be his exam center 40 years back.

Principal B.C. Josan delivered the annual report and read out academic, sports and cultural achievements of the college. Sh. H.R. Gandhar, Advisor to the president, Sh. Poonam Suri, DAVCMC, New Delhi also graced the occasion with his benign presence. 570 degrees were awarded to the post graduate students of various streams.  After the convocation the students were seen in the jubilant mood and congratulated among themselves after receiving the degrees.

The convocation was followed by prize distribution. The academic, cultural, NCC, NSS and sport achievements of the college students were awarded with cash prize and certificates.  A total cash prize of approximately Rs. 8 lakh was given to the academic, cultural, NCC and NSS achievers. The students and the teachers were very elated and proud of their achievements.
