Banyan Tree School, Chandigarh hosted its Annual Inter School event, Wheels of Wisdom, for the fourth year consecutively, on 22 August, 2020. With Covid-19 putting a halt to physical events around the world, Banyan Tree School, an advocator of innovation, rose above the situation’s challenges by finding opportunity in crisis to digitise its Inter School Competition.

Wheels of Wisdom, a mind sport Activity was the brain child of our Principal, Ms Sudeshna Sharma. Her years of experience as an educationist, and also being a valuable member of various panel discussions related to Education, she has always been of the view that the student should be the centre of the Learning. The focus should be on Concept clarity rather than rote learning.

Keeping the aim of sharpening the cognitive skills and enhancing the quick thinking ability of the students, the participants were engaged in a range of brain teasing activities which aid in developing the critical thinking skills. The event involved Activities from the disciplines of Mathematics, Science, Social Science and English.

The event was completely based on quick reflexes and concept clarity. The participants were judged on the criteria of accuracy and time taken to complete each activity. The children were thrilled to be a part of all subject activities and shared their experiences during the Closing ceremony very excitedly.

Participation of more than 25 teams consisting of over 100 students from the Tricity’s prestigious schools made the event glorious. Each team consisted of four students from classes III to VI.
