With the blessings of Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organised a blood donation camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 30-A, Chandigarh, where 402 devotees including 20 women donated blood. This, in a total of 76 blood donation camps were organized across the country, on Monday, as part of celebrations of Manav Ekta Divas (Human Unity Day) by Sant Nirankari Mission, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, who laid down his life on this day, in 1980. The Mission paid tributes to hundreds of devotees who sacrificed their lives for love, truth, peace and unity.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta Ji, Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, while inaugurating the camp, said, “The camp is a commendable way of commemorating the sacrifices made by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji.” While motivating the donors, he added, “I hope and pray that the Mission continues its service to the humanity in this selfless manner, and keeps contributing to the society.”
Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh zone, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Dr. B.S Cheema Ji, said that starting from April 24, blood donation camps are organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in various parts of the country, throughout the year. A total of 18 Blood Donation Camps are planned for the Chandigarh zone in this year. In 2016-2017, 5103 units blood was collected in 18 Blood Donation Camps organised in Chandigarh zone. Also present at the Blood Donation Camp were Smt. Joginder Kaur Ji, Member Incharge, Prachar and Training Vibhag, Sant Nirankari Mandal, New Delhi, Dr. (Smt.) J.K Cheema Ji, Additional Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh zone, Sh. Mohinder Singh Ji, Sanyojak, and Sh. Tarsem Lal Ji, Additional Sanyojak, Chandigarh branch.
Last year, the Foundation organized a total of 479 blood donation camps in the country, collecting 80,560 units of blood. Since the beginning of Blood Donation Camps in 1986, a total of 5046 camps have been organised, collecting 8, 69,161 units of blood.
The Mission today runs 4 hospitals at Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Agra, 150 dispensaries, 9 pathological laboratories, 7 Dental care centres, and 6 eye care centres throughout the country, all working on charitable basis.
A team of over 20 doctors and paramedics headed by Dr. Suchet Sachdev, Assistant Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine, Blood Bank P.G.I.M.E.R Chandigarh assisted in the successful culmination of the camp.
