The All India Jat Mahasabha Punjab has appointed Amarinder Singh Dhindsa as the Vice President of the organization by felicitating him for providing basic facilities to the farmers in the agitation against agricultural laws.

Addressing the journalists at Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27, Harpal Singh Harpura, Senior Vice President and Punjab President of All India Jat Mahasabha, said that the All India Jat Mahasabha along with its strategy in view of the upcoming Punjab Legislative Assembly elections has appointed Amarinder Singh Dhindsa as the Vice-President of the Sabha.

Harpal Singh Harpura said that the Mahasabha has fought a big battle for OBC registration in 9 states of the country, in which they have got success. He said that now he will fight the government to include the farmers earning less than eight lakhs in the OBC category and provide them reservation in jobs and financial assistance.

On the question of farmer leaders contesting elections in Punjab, he said that the Mahasabha would not support any such leader in the elections, nor would it oppose any political party. He said that Jat Sabha is a non-political organization which has nothing to do with political parties.

Amarinder Singh Dhindsa told the journalists that he was grateful to the organization for felicitating him by appointing him as the head of the All India Jat Mahasabha Punjab.

He said that he did whatever he could to help the farmers on behalf of Punjab on the Shambhu border. He had arranged for warm blankets, tents, quilts, heaters, hot stoves, massage machines and langar for the farmers. He said that he had acted on the directions of Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

He said that the Mahasabha is working for the benefit of the farmers, so he will always try to provide all possible help to the farmers by associating with it. He said that farmers without land are becoming unemployed in other parts of the country including Punjab, for this they will try to provide them financial assistance by the government so that they can earn their livelihood.

He said that farmers face a lot of difficulty in selling crops in Dana Mandi, they will try to get these problems removed as their grievances fail to reach the government. Therefore, he will always appeal to the interests of small farmers by becoming the voice of small farmers, while working for the promotion of livestock in Punjab, so that the problems faced by farmers in rearing animals and business problems can be overcome. Anoop Chaudhary, Youth Vice President of Mahasabha was also present on this occasion.
