“The bakery culture has grown in the tricity and Punjab and we are really happy to announce the opening of an outlet of ‘Brownie Point’ in District One, Sector 68, Mohali. ‘Brownie Point’ , a bakery chain, was established by me 27 years ago in Mumbai. My parents come from Amritsar which is a city of foodies so coming to Punjab with my bakery is an emotional homecoming for me,”said celebrity bakery chef Manish Khanna.

The announcement of start of ‘Brownie Point’ was made by Chef Manish Khanna, Founder and Partner of the bakery chain, who was accompanied by tricity’s woman bakery expert Ms. DilrajLuthra, Partner in the tricity venture, during a press meet held at Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27, Chandigarh here.

It is to be noted that ‘Brownie Point’ was the first bakery to introduce brownies and cheesecakes in Mumbai in 1997. The success of ‘Brownie Point’ lies in the baking prowess of its founder – the talented bakery chef Manish Khanna, who has honed his trade under some of the world’s best chefs across USA, Malaysia, Vietnam, picking the best in the art of desserts. While in the US, he trained at the Rich Headquarters, in Niagara– the world’s 2nd largest cream company. He trained also with Chef Mike at Tribeca Grill & Bakery, New York – a restaurant owned by the famous actor Robert De Niro. The sheer variety of bakery products and unique cake recipes created by Chef Manish became a hit with Bollywood A-Listers.

Sharing details of Bollywood celebrities who are fond of his cakes, Chef Khanna said, “We recently made Sunny Deol’s birthday cake. We have also done actress Kajol’sbirthday cake and also of her husband the famous actor Ajay Devgn. We have made cakes for Poonam Dhillon and the renowned Bollywood couple Shabana Azmi and Javed Sahib too. The list is endless.It feels great when Bollywood celebs order your cakes.”

The ‘Brownie Point’ menu in Mohali includes a wide range of mouth-watering bakery delicacies like – Chocó Walnut Brownie, Ferrero Brownie, Kitkat Brownie etc. The outlet in Mohali is also introducing Sizzling Brownie’s like Classic Sizzling Brownie et al. Other attractions are Red Velvet Cupcake, Chocolate Caramel Cupcake, Date and Walnut Cake, Honey Nut Crunch Cake, Black Forest Cake, Red Velvet Cake and more.

In desserts, the outlet offers irresistible sumptuous Chocolate Mousse, Tiramisu, Honey Walnut Pie, and Portuguese Sawdust Pudding etc. For diet conscious customers – the menu also has healthy and delicious options like Chocolate Quinoa Cake, Zucchini Cake, Carrot Cake Slice and Flourless Espresso, etc.

The new outlet in the city is the 30th outlet of ‘Brownie Point’ which is now flourishing in 30 locations across 4 cities in the country and in Dubai too.

During the event, ‘Brownie Point’s’ Christmas special menu which includes the delectable Plum Cake and other delights was also unveiled.

“This year, we are celebrating 27 years with one special dessert dedicated to each year that includes many of my personal favourites. But if I had to choose one, then it would be the profiterole, a simple classic and chocolate choux pastry, filled with crème patisserie and soaked in luscious silky chocolate ganache. Hope the people will relish these as much as we have enjoyed preparing them all these years,” sums up Chef Khanna.
