St. Anne’s Convent School observed National Girl Child Day with a week-long celebration, spanning from January 16 to January 24, 2024. The event aimed at raising awareness and fostering a sense of empowerment among students towards the cause of gender equality.

On January 16, parents and staff proudly showcased their commitment to the cause by uploading selfies with their daughters on various platforms, using hashtags #BBBP and #akamcelebratinggirlchildmwcd.

Continuing the momentum, on January 18, an oath ceremony on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was conducted across all classes, encompassing both physical and online modes. Students from classes 1 to 12 pledged to eradicate gender-biased discrimination, ensuring the birth and survival of girls. The commitment extended towards nurturing girls to become equal and empowered citizens of India.

Throughout the week, students engaged in public speaking and poster-making activities, delving into topics pertinent to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, fostering dialogue and creativity.

The culminating event on January 24 witnessed a symbolic Tree Plantation in the school campus dedicated to the Girl Child. Principal Sister Siji addressed the gathering, urging girls to dream big and recognize their worth. She motivated them to become beacons of hope for their families, society, and the world at large.

St. Anne’s Convent School’s celebration of National Girl Child Day not only instilled a sense of responsibility but also served as a platform to empower the future generation, advocating for a society where every girl can thrive and fulfill her potential.
