Hindi Divas was celebrated at GGDSD College here today wherein students participated in essay writing and poetry recitation competitions to highlight the importance of the Hindi language in today’s world. The event was organized by Ms Pratibha Kumari, Head, Department of Hindi of the College.
Principal Dr Bhushan Kumar Sharma encouraged students to read good literature written in Hindi language. “Language is the carrier of culture and values. Stories written in the mother tongue help transmit ancient wisdom, culture and values to the next generation,” he said.
Other speakers included Dr Devi Singh, Department of Sanskrit; Dr Harvinder Chahal, Department of Punjabi, Ms Seema Kumari, Department of Political Science and Ms Jatinder, Department of Psychology.
