This monsoon, tears will fall like rain showers. The world may be taking a chance on romance but Punjabi music industry is churning out melodies that will at least not make you forget all the pain. With back to back sad tracks hitting music charts, Punjabi singers are sure celebrating heart-ache in 2018. Next in the list of sad songs is A Kay’s ‘Hanju Digde’.
Moving away from his hip and happening songs with swagger and style, A Kay’s Hanju Digde is a melancholy number composed by Western Penduz. The lyrics of this song have been penned down by Jassi Lohka and it features beautiful Saanvi Dhiman opposite A Kay. The video, shot to A Kay’s trademark style is made by Monkey Pictures. The song released under one of Punjabi music industry’s biggest label Speed Records. Speed Records has had a long-standing association with the singer. Hanju Digde is an Umesh Karmawala presentation.
Talking about the song, A Kay said, “It has taken quite a while to come up with something that can give me the satisfaction just like my previous outings. When Jassi, the lyricist, came up with Hanju Digde, I just felt this will be the right song. This is an emotional track which is a bit difficult to perform because you have to make the listeners connect to all the feelings. Performing it was a cathartic experience. I just hope they will give the song immense love.”
“A Kay is a brilliant singer, there’s no doubt about his talent. He is coming back after a sabbatical and we really hope that people will love Hanju Digde. This is a beautiful and soulful track, a bit different from A Kay’s go-to genre of hip-hop beat songs. Although he has sung soft numbers earlier, but this one is just a reminder that he can definitely switch between styles and is here to stay”, said Umesh Karmawala, the presenter of Hanju Digde.
The song released on the Speed Records YouTube page and is already trending on the charts.
