In the Chandigarh Press Club, the representatives of the contractors of the grain markets of the state informed that in PunjabThe unloading contract in Asia’s largest Khanna Anaj Mandi and all other grain markets is once again in dispute. The tender is being suspended despite the orders of the higher officials of the department to re-tender, amid fears of loss of hundreds of crores of rupees to the government. possibly a scam of hundreds of crores of rupees in it.
When many contractors appealed against it in the department, the Director of Food and Supplies Department issued orders for re-tendering. But due to the bad policies of the Punjab government and the connivance of high officials and ministers, by forming large clusters and by imposing strict clauses on the old contractors, only the Big and sound contracts have been given extension again, although for several decades, small clusters participated in the tender process from the beginning. The existing contractors are ready to fill the tender at a much lower rate than the current tender, due to which the government going through financial crisis will save huge money, but by rejecting the bid due to technical reasons, the government officials with the connivance of the officials and ministers, to benefit only 3-4 big contractors. Extension has been given to the old tenders. After the condition of appeal to the food authorities by the contractors, it was not even possible for the contractors to reach the court for justice.
