Aanchal International School celebrated its Annual Day ‘ Xpressions 2018’ on the 2nd December 2018 at the auditorium of Post Graduate Government College, Sector – 46-B, Chandigarh. The day was celebrated with great pomp and splendor. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Sanjay Tandon, President Chandigarh State BJP and the guest of honour Mr. Prem Kaushik , Gen. Sec.Chandigarh State BJP . The chief guest was cordially welcomed by the Director and the Principal and other Management members of Aanchal International School. Following which the chief guest was accorded a traditional welcome with tilak ceremony and the lightening of ceremonial lamp.
The annual school report was read by the Principal, which brought to fore, the achievements of the students of the school and significant progress made during the last year. She addressed the gathering with her views on futuristic vision and conveyed the necessity of defining one students ’s goal in life, yet looking forward to the students’ hopeful and bright future. The function started with Vandana which included Ganesh Vandana, act on Mahishasur mardini and Lasaya seeking God’s blessings.
Then came the children from primary tapping their feet on the glorious music of last few decades. The old Bollywood songs like ichak dana, acha ji me hari and many more can never be forgotten by anyone and young ones performing twist on these numbers mesmerized everyone.
Students enthralled the audience by performing an English skit on thought provoking issue social media, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of social media. It made everyone realize that it depends on us how to and how much to use a technology to get its maximum benefits.
The tiny-tots of pre-nursery stepped up the stage with confidence as they performed on the rhymes with the theme of happiness. Not behind are the enthusiastic students of kindergarten. They performed their best and departed the stage with lot of cheers and applause from the audience.
The motto of Aanchal is all round development of students and this was showcased by students through yoga and taekwondo. These techniques were combinations of power, accuracy, rhythm and strength, which was seen when the martial art and aasanas were performed by the students. The students left the audience amazed when the children formed human pyramid and broke the tiles.
The students who brought laurels to the school were given appreciation awards. The whole auditorium echoed with the sound of clapping when the names of the winners who brought glory to the school in various interstate/ national tournaments were announced .
The mood of the audience was lightened when a series of snippets were staged taking situations from day to day life incidents, with which everyone correlated and laughed to their heart.
The stage was enthralled when the budding fashion divas and handsome hunks exhibited some of the most alluring outfits which included western wear, ethnic wear, casual wear, traditional wear and a round giving glimpse of fashion 2040.
The whole ambience was resonating with excitement when the rainbow of cultural program unfolded through blends of music, rhythm and dance. The program rose to final crescendo with the finale of the show, the foot tapping enthusiastic folklore of Punjab, Gidda and Bhangra.
The day ended with beautiful resonance with vote of thanks leaving behind the promise of a handful of brighter hues the next year.
