A 71-run partnership for the seventh wicket between skipper Aradhana Bisht and Priyanka Guleria helped Leisure Zone to beat Rock Zone by four wickets in a thrilling encounter at the ongoing the UTCA Combined Women’s T20 tournament being played at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36 on Wednesday. While batting first, Rock Zone scored 132/3 in the stipulated twenty overs with the help of Tanya Verma (47) and unbeaten Simranjit Kaur (35). In reply, the Leisure Zone got off to a miserable start and at one stage, the team was struggling at 63/6. But captain Aradhana Bisht (40) and Priyanka Guleria (33) exceptionally ruled the game and surpassed the target in the 19th over. Monika Bishnoi took three wickets from the opposition side.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Plaza Zone recorded a one-sided seven-wicket win over Rose Zone. While batting first, Rose Zone scored 101/6 runs wherein Gulnaz Grewal and Suman Rajput contributed 27 runs each. In reply, Palak Rana’s unbeaten innings of 40 runs steered the team home at the loss of three wickets in the last over of the match.
