Blue Dart, India’s leading logistics services provider, and a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) Group, today announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art aviation hub in Chennai. The Aviation Hub will measure 4,912 sq. meters upon completion and is strategically located at the Blue Dart Aviation Terminal, Gate 6 Old International Airport, Meenambakkam, Chennai, with both air and land side access, enabling fast and efficient transfer of shipments, improving faster transit times and further extending Blue Dart’s already market leading service quality.

The new facility will also house the headquarters of Blue Dart Aviation, India’s only commercial cargo airline which provides a dedicated fleet of six B757-200 freighters and a capacity of 500 tonnes every night, operating across 73 flight sectors daily. The hub boasts BCAS approved security screening with its own X-Ray machines, equipment and dedicated manpower.

The facility also houses training facilities which are approved by BCAS and DGCA with own instructors who will carry out Crew, Engineering, Security and Operations training.  Blue Dart is also regulatory approved for and carries out its own airframe heavy maintenance and aircraft modifications at its headquarters, and self-handling at all of its on line stations.
