A city-based NGO ‘I Am Still Human'(IASH) has given a laptop to a 9th class student Sonia, who lives in an orphanage at Rajouri district in Jammu & Kashmir, to support her education. The initiative was taken under the “IASH Scholarship” programme after Brig. Satinder Singh, Chairman Sainik Welfare Board, Punjab who was serving earlier in Rajouri shared the hardships of the girl with the NGO.

It’s noteworthy that it’s not the first time that the NGO has advanced such a generous step but has also been providing laptops and other study materials in the past to needy students to support their education.

Vivek Mehra, Founder of ‘I Am Still Human’ said, “Girls like Sonia are the future of our country, and they need a little help to chase their dreams. People, who are fortunate enough to have everything, should come up in front and give their contributions. The moment our team got the information about Sonia, we arranged a laptop to contribute our bit to achieve her dreams. And what can be more blissful than bringing a smile on someone’s face!!”

Apart from this, the NGO has adopted a number of children of Indian Army martyrs to cater to their education needs. Mehra added, “All our youth needs is a push in the right direction. If lack of resources forces them to give up on their dreams, then it’s a huge loss to our nation.” Apart from aiding the education of children, the NGO is working expeditiously for the welfare of women, underprivileged people, and Army personnel & their families.
