On the auspicious occasion of Annapurna day on 1 July 2019, Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik carried out its Project HOPE – Help Other People Eat in collaboration with ROTARACT CLUB OF MCM DAV.  The food distribution drive was carried out near GMCH Sector 32. The target group was patients and their attendees waiting outside the hospital.

Volunteers from the two clubs engaged themselves in service and helped serve food and chilled lassi to over 300 individuals in the scorching summer heat. The aim of Project HOPE was not only giving away food but also to interact with the public and provide them some moral support.

“Our team felt immensely satisfied at distribution food and Lassi to people at GMCH -32, a humble step to service the society. Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik has planned various other community service projects like Blood Donation Drive, Tree Plantatkion Drive, Cleanliness Drive etc. Community service is our way of putting our mark on the world and experiencing diversity to enhance our mind and spirit. ” said Rtr. Shashank Kaushik, President of Rotaract Club Chandigarh Shivalik.

Rtr. Garima Vashista,  President of RAC MCM DAV added that the event was satisfying and a great experience. The Rotaract family hopes to continue many such food distribution drives and do their best to address global problems like hunger in today’s world.
