Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the Congress ticket aspirant from Chandigarh Parliamentary seat, continuing her public meetings in Chandigarh, addressed a rally at the Colony Number 4 located in Industrial Area Phase 1 here on Sunday.

Dr Sidhu paid tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama attack and spoke on the issues related to loan waiver to the poor people and the problems of the colony dwellers. The Congress leader criticized the ruling party at the Centre for their unability to check the wealthy loan defaulters from leaving the country and ditching the banks.

Addressing a huge gathering at the rally, Dr Sidhu asked the people to get their children educated and send them to the armed forces of India. “Service to the nation was the greatest one could make,” added the leader.

The meeting was organized by a local supporter, Mr Shibu Yadav in association with former Mayor, Ms Poonam Sharma and Ms Indu Singla.

Dr Sidhu, former MLA from Amritsar (East) and wife of Punjab Minister Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu, assured the colony people of improving their living conditions once she wins the poll.

Earlier in the day, Dr Sidhu visited Dhanas village to attend the ‘bhog’ ceremony of former vice chairman Zila Parishad Chandigarh, Late Dayal Singh’s wife Late Gurdev Kaur.
