Strong tremors were felt in some of the parts of North India in early hours of Friday. The tremors, which were felt for around a minute, shook Delhi and neighbouring areas around 4:26 am. As per United States Geological Survey, the quake measured 5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was reported to be in Haryana’s Rohtak, a neighboring state of Delhi. The USGS said that the epicentre was at a depth of 22 kms. No immediate loss of life and property has been reported. Panicked by the jolt, people took to social media to share their experience and came out of their houses.
The tremors were felt for about 2 minutes in Chandigarh, Panipat, Rohtak, Gohana, Noida, Faridabad, sonipat, Gurgaon and some parts of UP. Some areas reported feeling tremors even two times.
