Education minister State first Startup Incubator cum Center of Excellence opened in Panchkula

Department of Higher Education in association with Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC) launched its first Startup Incubator cum Center of Excellence of Haryana, at Govt PG College, Sector 1, Panchkula. Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma in the presence of Gian Chand Gupta, MLA, Panchkula, Latika Sharma, MLA, Kalka, Jyoti Arora (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Manipal Dhariwal, SACC President, CEO and Co-founder Netsmartz and Shri Nitin Monga, Vice President, SACC inaugurated the centre.

This startup incubator cum Centre of Excellence will foster entrepreneurship at all levels amongst aspiring youth of Haryana. This startup incubator cum Centre of Excellence spread across 3000 square feet will primarily cater to four government colleges falling in the district of Haryana, i.e. Government Post Graduate College, Sector 1, Panchkula, Government Post Graduate College, Sector 14, Panchkula, Government College Barwala and Government College Kalka. It has seating capacity of 80, along with state of art infrastructure, such as recreational area (for 50 people), Wi-Fi, mentoring room, mini-cafeteria etc.

The foremost and primary objective of this startup incubator cum Centre of Excellence will be to foster entrepreneurship using tools like Bootcamps, workshops, regular classes on entrepreneurship, mentoring sessions, pitching events, funding support, live interactions with Noted Entrepreneurs, etc.

Startup initiative by the Haryana Government has given a big boost to students and professional community in Haryana, as they are coming forward with their new business ideas and seeking support from Government and SACC for space, mentoring, funding and incubation support.

During the occasion, Minister also unveiled ‘Shiksha Setu’ App to ease the students under the Higher Education and also PATANG (Passport Assistance To Aspiring New Graduate) to facilitate the passport process for students.
