GAIL (India) Ltd received the Kaleido Award, 2019 for their Hawa Badlo campaign, which was shortlisted as the best campaign in Public/ Govt category. Kaleido Awards seek to recognize India’s ace communicators and this award was received by Ms Nalini Malhotra, GM, GAIL (India) Ltd during the India Communication Summit ’19 held in New Delhi.
GAIL (India) Ltd has been creating awareness and changing mind-sets, to ensure a greener and cleaner tomorrow through its movement “Hawa Badlo”. Hawa Badlo attempts to mobilize collective societal efforts to improve the deteriorating air quality by encouraging sustainable and environment friendly lifestyle habits such as planting trees, cycling and walking, carpooling, using public transport, conserving energy and using cleaner energy sources like natural gas for industries, CNG for automobiles and PNG for commercial use.
Hawa Badlo movement has been actively working towards educating the Indian masses against air pollution through events, short films, contests, raahgiri, pledges etc on advocacy against air pollution, problems caused due to air pollution and solutions for curbing it.
The initiatives under Hawa Badlo movement have been successful to reach more than 6 crore Indians digitally. The campaign has bagged SAMMIE Award for ‘Best use of Video Content’, LI Content Marketing Award for ‘Best Use of Social Cause Content Marketing’, Foxglove Award for Best use of video for CSR / Best Brand Integration / Best Branded Content Campaign, and GAIL’s short film “Kadvi Hawa Badlo” got shortlisted in Jaipur Film Festival under short film on social cause category.
