The staff and students of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh celebrated Independence Day with great fervour and gaiety today. Dean Mr. Kanwar Iqbal Singh and Vice-Principal Dr. Anita Khosla unfurled the tricolor.
Students presented medley of patriotic songs which made the atmosphere nationalistic. The audience also participated and sang along which added to the fervour of celebration. Speeches by the students narrated the sacrifices of our martyrs for independence of the country. The achievements of the nation in diverse areas such as defence, infrastructure, space, health and education etc. during the last seven decades were gloriously highlighted.

Addressing the students, Vice-Principal Dr. Anita Khosla congratulated them on the occasion and recalled the brave-hearts who laid down their lives for the freedom of the nation. She reminded them to be truthful to their national duties and set example for others to follow. She motivated them to be harbingers of national transformation and bring laurels to the institution and the nation.
