The Ramanujan Society of Mathematics Department, DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh organized a plethora of intriguing technical, humanitarian and cultural events under the umbrella of annual mathematics fest , Infinity 2K17 during 3-4 March 2017. Interestingly, several skits highlighting the fascinating and unimaginable aspects of mathematics were organized along with innovative poster making and powerpoint presentation events with over 60 participations. Students were made aware about Vedic Maths, gift of our holy vedas to world of Mathematics. They were apprised of the Vedic Maths Techniques as a handy tool for success in competitive exams sponsored by Mohanlal Institute of Mathematics.
Fun games and cultural events were also organized as the part of the fest. It was followed by Guest lecture by Prof. S. K. Tomar from Department of Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Cash prizes of Rs. 1500, Rs 1000 and Rs 500 were given to the winner students Ms. Muskaan, Mr Rajat, Ms. Komal, Mr, Dhruv, Mr. Siddharth Jain and Mr. Bhupender. Principal Dr. B.C Josan congratulated Prof Rita Jain, Head of Department and faculty for organizing and successfully managing numerous events together. He also motivated the students to take part in such events as it serves as an excellent platform for gaining knowledge and showcasing talent.
