Post-Graduate Department of Sociology, GGSCW-26, Chandigarh organized an Interactive Lecture on ‘Gender Based Violence’ on March 20th, 2018 by Dr. Jyoti Seth, Professor, Department of Sociology PGGCG-42, Chandigarh. Prinicpal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, welcomed the guest speaker and appreciated her efforts towards making women aware of their rights.
Dr. Seth highlighted various forms of gender violence faced by young girls in our society. She informed and inspired the students to stand up against many incidents of violence and necessary complaints about it to the authorities. Mentioning about cyber crimes, she made students aware about cyber laws and how the constitution of our nation upholds equality and justice for all.
Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Head of Department of Sociolgy, offered the vote of thanks.
