A meeting of District council PCCTU was held in MCM D A V college sector 36, Chandigarh. District council strongly opposed the biometric attendance being proposed by Director Higher Education in the aided colleges of Chandigarh. District council also urged D H E and Panjab University to grant extension in service up to 65 years for the college teacher at par with college principals. Council also condemned DHE delayed action in CAS promotions and past service benefits of aided colleges. It was decided by the district council in case their demands are not met before 2nd June, an agitation will be launched to get the genuine demands fulfilled. Keeping in mind the harassment meted out to the teachers of other colleges at the gate of MCM DAV College, District Council strongly condemned the behavior of principal and decided to write to all the principals of all colleges to lay down similar rules for the entry of the principal of MCM DAV College. It also asked its members to protest her entry into their college.  Prof Bhupinder singh, president District Council stated that DHE should not test the patience of the aided colleges to provoke us to launch agitation for our genuine demands. Dr. Himanshu, strongly condemned introduction of biometric attendance and reinstructed the long pending demands of past service benefits and PhD increments.
