Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU), Bathinda has done tie up with the Google for the students of 110 Colleges of 11 districts lying under its jurisdiction. With this tie up 70,000 students studying under various technical courses would be benefitted as per the need of the industry. Google will give training to the faculty and the students for developing Android Applications. Along with this MRS-PTU has also signed MoU with Red Hat.Linux and Systems Applications Product (SAP) to upgrade the students with latest industrial curriculum.
This was said by Dr. Mohan Paul Singh Isher, Vice Chancellor, MRS-PTU during the inaugural ceremony of 41st Aryans Job Fest as the Chief Guest held at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. Dr. JS Hundal, Registrar, MRS-PTU was the Guest of Honour on the occasion while Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Out of nearly 3500 walk-ins from all over the North India, around 315 candidates were got shortlisted by over 55 companies in the one day long fest.
Isher further said that the technology is changing every minute but the syllabi of the technical courses are not being changed for years, so to bridge this gap between academics and industry needs, the University has started with additional training workshops with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) wherein 2 pool campus placement drives would be conducted in Bathinda University.
Dr. J.S Hundal while speaking on the occasion said that layoffs and Global crisis fail to stop the renowned brands of International Market. The colleges who are putting their efforts in keeping their students upgraded with the latest technology are not facing problems in getting their students placed in good companies.
Companies including 3 Afterdoor Solutions , Exide Life Insurance Company Limited, Raksha Group , Soft Prodigy System Solutions Pvt Ltd., ToXSL Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Trs Group, MindVis India, Million user, Arnav soft, Eklavya Associates, Rooman Technologies pvt Ltd etc were the prominent companies offering salary packages upto 6 lacs per annum.
Students from various Colleges/Universities including Patel Memorial Colleges (Rajpura); RIMT (Mandi Gobindgarh); DAV College (Ambala); SVIET (Banur); Gurukul (Banur) Dev Samaj College (Ferozpur); Guru Jamdheshwar University (Hisar); College of Engineering (Roorkee); Ludhiana Group of Colleges, Kurukshetra University; Punjabi University (Patiala) etc participated in the fest.
