Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh Syndicate meeting was today presided over
by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover in the Syndicate Room. The Syndicate approved the recommendations of the Board of Finance dated
February 13, 2017.
The Syndicate constituted a 12 members committee, chaired by the Dean of
University Instructions (DUI) Prof Dinesh K Gupta to enquire into the quality of
construction work over the last 16 years of the expansion of the PU.
The Syndicate approved the appointment of a new Director Public Relations
(DPR) against the leave vacancy for six months.
The syndicate unanimously resolved to confer the designation of Honorary
Professor on Dr. O N Bhargava, FNA, at Centre of Advanced Studies in Geology,
Department of Geology of the University.
Syndicate accepted the recommendations of the committee which had looked
into rules for condonation of shortage of attendance on different grounds. New fees
structures recommended for hostels also stand accepted by the Syndicate.
