Is it possible for everyone be creative? Can creativity be a part of everything we do in our daily lives?

“Yes,” says Ashoo Khosla, author of the book –  Off the Corporate bus and into the Creativity Boat.” All of us are capable of being creative and whenever we have used creativity there has been advancement in the world.”

“Yet, is it not strange that one is taught so many subjects at school and college  – but the most important subject, the one that will truly help us advance – creativity – is left out?” she asks.

This book answers the question -How does one learn to be more creative? It explores various techniques utilized by the true the masters of creativity – artists and scientists and makes them available in an easy to use format.  The book was released by Sri Sri Ravishakar at Shoolini University Solan, yesterday during the annual convocation ceremony of the university. It has been published by Jaico Publishing house, one of India’s oldest and most reputed publishers.

The book is in the self-help genre and is written in the form of a gripping story. It is the story of Aditi Singh, a top-notch manager who wants nothing more than to quit. She meets Dr. Shiv, an odd little old man, who is a master story-teller. As they spend more time together, Aditi begins to relate to his stories and starts exploring her creative side.

The author is uniquely qualified to write on this subject – she is a gold medalist from Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, and an alumnus of the prestigious Indian School of Business. Ashoo has several years of experience in Healthcare, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals and Education – and these along with her training as a doctor have helped her develop insights in the field of creativity. She is a founding member of Shoolini University, where she launched the innovative online learning platform eUniv and is currently in the process of integrating a platform for innovation and creativity for all students.

“My larger mission is to reach out to as many people as possible and help them become more creative – in their everyday work and lives.” says Ashoo.  To start with, the book will be a part of the core teaching philosophy that is being imbibed at Shoolini University to ensure all students explore their potential to be creative and innovative. She also hopes to use the book as a tool for corporate trainings in India as well as in UAE, where she is currently based.
