The tradition of excelling in academics was kept aloft by the student of Post-graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh by not only participating but also winning in an International event. Ms. Nancy, a student of B.A.-II, Geography Honours of the college participated in Essay Competition—Writing and Speech, held during the International Tropical Meteorology Symposium, INTROMET-2017.

The Symposium on the theme ‘Advancements in Space-based Earth Observations and Services for Weather and Climate” was organised by Indian Meteorological Society—Ahmedabad Chapter and Space Application Centre, ISRO under the auspices of Indian Meteorological Society, New Delhi. Ms. Nancy won 2nd Prize in the competition for her eloquent presentation and interaction on the topic ‘Societal Benefits of Weather Study and Prediction’. Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college congratulated Ms. Nancy for her feat and applauded the efforts of the faculty of Department of Geography for their able guidance.
