For students of Visual Arts and Visual Art History in Punjab between 18 to 30 years.
In one another new initiative by the Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, to generate interest in the understanding of contemporary art practice among students, the Akademi will provide travel grant to students of Visual Art and Visual Art History who are currently enrolled in BFA/MFA/BA with Fine arts, MA with Fine Arts and MPhil in Fine Arts in any college, art institution and university of Punjab, to travel and witness the creatively charged environment and ambience of mega art events organised in various parts of the country such as Kochi Muziris Biennale, Kerala, and India Art Fair, New Delhi.
The huge pool of talent in Punjab needs exposure to open their mind to the possibilities of how to explore new mediums and techniques to give expression to their own experiences. It will also help them streamline their thought processes by attending to the discussions, dialogues and conversations among artists, art critics, art historians, curators, gallery persons, museum directors and cultural theorists.
The grant includes:
Rs 12,000/- for Kochi Muziris Biennale, which includes travel, stay, food and local expenses.
Rs 4,000/- for India Art Fair, New Delhi which includes travel, stay, food and local expenses.
The orientation of the selected applicants at the premises of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi few days before the students depart for the specified Art Venue.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Applicants are eligible to apply if Applicant is a domicile of Punjab. Applicant is currently studying (as regular student) in BFA/MFA/BA with Fine arts, MA with Fine Arts, MPhil in Fine Arts in any college, art institution and university of Punjab. Applicant’s age on 31.08.2018 should be between 18 to 30 years.
