The School and College Bus Operators  Association has demanded waiver in all forms of taxes from the Punjab and the Central Government, announcing that if their demands are not met, they will not only intensify their struggle but the keys to their buses will be kept with CM Captain Amarinder Singh.
Gurpreet Singh Happy, President, School and College Bus Operators Association along with Jasmeet Singh, Vice President and Rajwinder Singh while briefing a press conference said that the government has given relief to all sections in the lockdown due to Covid 19 but ignored the school college bus operators.
He said that the instructions issued by the Punjab-Haryana High Court have been followed during the last one or two years. The school-college is closed since March resulting the non operational of buses. Gurpreet Singh said bus operators are in big trouble considering their vehicle tax, instalment, insurance and other forms of formalities. Operators also alleged that they are being threatened by bankers over their loans instalments.
Association demanded their taxes, insurance, passing and instalments should be waived off by State and Central Govts  till the school and colleges are fully opened. Association warned that if government consider their demands, operators would keep the keys of their buses with CM  Captain Amarinder Singh.
