‘I have been often asked about what is the main thing to become a successful designer. For me, I would say right balance is very necessary if you want to be a designer, success comes with hard work. A designer needs to adapt to technology, change of client’s mind, creative aspects and environmental changes as well. Yet one need to stick to his/her belief and style also’, says Bollywood Designer Manish Malhotra.

Manish Malhotra was in Chandigarh for Chandigarh based INIFD’s 24th Anniversary. A special live class was conducted by the Heartthrob of Bollywood Designer Manish Malhotra.

Pioneer in the Indian costume design space, ace Bollywood Fashion Designer Manish Malhotra has joined hands with Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) and London School of Trends (LST) to impart specialized fashion education training online.

Sharing about his own experience in designing field he said, “I have seen so many changes in my client’s choices in past few years. Now, Bride’s clothes are not choose by her family or relatives. Bride has her own mindset of what and how she wants to wear her wedding dress. I feel so happy that Brides have come up with unique and stylish choices themselves.”

Manish told, “Being a designer I have to stick to the choices my clients demand. Some families want darker and embroidered clothes. Some want to be understated. Sometimes even groom wants his clothes to be fully embroidered. Also, I have to keep in mind about the weather, crowd and their mindset while designing clothes.”

Giving a piece to young Designers, Manish said that It is a constant journey. You have to constantly explore. What you need is a great team to handle office work clients and other chores which will help you concentrate fully on designing. Lastly, It will require Finance to be successful at a global level.

The ‘Learn from Manish Malhotra’ digital programme shall be available from the current academic session. The course will cover in-depth knowledge and training on a wide spectrum in the sector including Bollywood costumes, Bridal trousseau, Styling, Merchandising, Preparation for Fashion Weeks and much more.
