The Orchid Society of India (TOSI) established in 1984 with its headquarters at Botany Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized the T N Khoshoo Memorial  Lecture and Award Function on December 20, 2017, at Auditorium Department of Botany ,Panjab University, Chandigarh. The event began with the lightening of the lamp by the Respected Dignitaries; The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Mohini Khoshoo wife of Late Dr. T N Khoshoo, an alumunus of Botany Department and ex Secretary Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi and the function was presided by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh, Prof.(Dr.) Arun K. Grover. The opening remarks for the event were delivered by the President, TOSI , Professor A K Bhatnagar. Subsequently, Secretary, TOSI, Professor Promila Pathak briefed about The Orchid Society of India, its activities and the TN Khoshoo Memorial Award. The Guests of Honour Professor Emeritus Dr. S C Verma, Dr. Deepak Ohri and Dr. S N Raina expressed their gratitude as a tribute to their Teacher Late Dr. T N Khoshoo. Prof.(Dr.) Arun K Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University Chandigarh in his Presidential Remarks, emphasized the the need of Centenary Celebration to strengthen the Mentor-student relationship and encouraged such initiatives at the University Level with a view to producing many such legends in the future. The T N Khoshoo Memorial award was presented to Dr. Saratchandra Misra from Bhubaneshwar, Orissa; it was announced by President, TOSI , Professor A K Bhatnagar and was cited by Secretary, TOSI Professor Promila Pathak. Dr. Saratchandra Misra delivered a talk on Diversity in Growth Habit & Morphology of Indian Orchids. Mrs. Mohini Khoshoo blessed the audience and encouraged the students  to futher carry out their research with sincerity and dedication in the field of Orchids.  At the end, Secretary, TOSI Professor Promila Pathak proposed the Vote of thanks.
