DIVYA AZAD
The State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chandigarh, Sanjay Tandon met the UT Advisor, Parimal Rai to press upon the issues concerning people of Chandigarh. He was accompanied by a delegation which included Anil Talwar, Major Virk, Architect, Vinod Joshi.
The most important issue which was highlighted at the meeting by Tandon was the extension of SCF/ SCO in construction as box type should be allowed.
While sharing more information Tandon informed, “This will help the old buildings to do the business in an effective manner and shall also provide revenue to the government besides making it business friendly. We were assured that the needful will be done in this regard as soon as possible. The issue of ownership rights of tenements, cheap houses and 13 types of houses and industrial houses was discussed in detail. I was told that issue is pending with cabinet and the decision will be out soon. I drew the attention of the adviser towards the long felt need of having a Sanskrit Academy in the city beautiful”.
Adding to it, “I took up the issue of regularization of houses in Deep Complex, Hallomajra. However the notification was issued in the year 2008 which was later withdrawn in 2009. If these houses get regularized then residents would be able to get basic facilities like sewerage system and proper water supply. I also demanded one- time relaxation for motor market of Sector 48, Chandigarh, where a number of notices have been issued for the recovery of old dues. The Advisor assured us to look into this matter sympathetically, at the earliest”.
