A three day Entrepreneurship Development Programme commenced in Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls Sector 11, Chandigarh today. The programme is being organised under the aegis of Department of Industries, Chandigarh Administration. More than 70 students and faculty members attended the programme.
Welcoming the guests on the occasion Prof Anita Kaushal thanked the Department for the initiative and motivated the students seek proper guidance and take full advantage of the programme.
S. Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (RCED) elaborated the significance of economic self-dependence in the present era. He in his presentation explained the wide opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship. He quoted suitable examples to motivate the students to become Job-providers rather than Job-seekers. He guided the students about the various measures and schemes being undertaken by the Government to support innovative ideas related to market and business. Mr. Satwinder Singh consultant with RCED also addressed the students on the occasion.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology and Incharge of the programme highlighted that in addition to the three day EDP, the college will be conducting five ED Programmes in the neighbouring villages of Khuda Jassu, Khuda Lahora, Khuda Ali Sher, Dhanas and Sarangpur. The objective of the programme will be to spread awareness and provide guidance to the youth of these villages so that they can derive maximum benefit from the government schemes.
