Today, on occasion of World Tourism Day, a 22 member students and teachers delegation of Delhi Public School, Sector 40C, led by Mrs. Sapna Nagal and Sapna Gajwani left for a six days visit of Malaysia. During their visit, which is facilitated by Yuvsatta-an NGO, they will be visiting SMK VIVEKANANDA School at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. This international delegation was flagged-off today by American Gandhi Bernie Meyer-the brand Ambassador of annual Global Youth Peace Fest.

Giving details of the initiative Reema Dewan, Principal of the School, said that in Malaysia Schools are doing excellent at national and international level by combining academics with use of technology, sports and extra-curricular activities. There is so much we can learn from each other, especially in a global world such students exchange programmes are a key tool for building “bridges of understanding & dialogue”—because we fairly believe that global connectivity is important to peace and stability of the human race.

During their stay at Malaysia DPS students will also be going to third largest state of Pahang in Malaysia, which is also home to famous National Elephant Conservation Centre.

“Such exchange prorgammes improves children’s life skills and understanding of how to behave in a different society and independently handle their routine away from parents. This increases their IQ and Confidence too”, added senior environmentalist and Butterfly expert Kulbhushan Kanwar who is also accompanying this group on behalf of Yuvsatta.

Summing up the educational and cultural exchange excursion, Bernie Meyer added that ‘School exchanges and trips overseas are brilliant for developing your partnerships with schools abroad and introducing students and staff to new ideas, cultures and languages’.

At Malaysia this delegation of DPS Students will also be visiting the famous Twin Towers, Fish aquarium, Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park  and Putra Mosque at Kuala Lampur. Their meetings with senior officials of International Youth Centre at Kaula Lampur and also at Ministry of Youth & Sports in Government of Malaysia are also planned.

Two days from now on September 29th, Yuvsatta will be hosting it’s 12th Global Youth Peace Fest with expected participation of young leaders and peace activists from over 25 countries of the world.
