A Tree Plantation Drive was organised in Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11 by ‘PRAKRITI’-The Environment Society in collaboration with NOSTALGIA-The Alumni Association of the college and DAINIK JAGRAN-GROUP OF NEWSPAPERS. Principal of the college, Prof. Anita Kaushal planted a tree sapling, and she was followed by other senior faculty members, alumni and other distinguished guests and media persons. Saplings of fruit and avenue trees such as Gulmohar, Ficus and Palash etc. were planted as a part of Van Mahostsav.
Addressing the faculty and students on this occasion, Principal of the college stressed the growing significance of tree plantation in the wake of sustainable development. She encouraged the students for the post-plantation care of the saplings in the larger interest of the environment and society.
