A cricket tournament will be organized by Vicky Middukhera Foundation from April 8 to 10 at the Law Ground of Panjab University. The cricket tournament is being organized under the stewardship of senior Akali Dal leader and elder brother of late Vicky Middukhera, Ajaypal Singh Middukhera. The objective of the tournament is to encourage youth to participate in sporting activities.
A total of 15 teams are taking part in the cricket tournament. These teams have won accolades in many cricket tournaments in the past. In the upcoming tournament, 8 to 10 matches will be played in a day from 9 am to 5 pm. Each match on the first two days has been scheduled for 6 overs a side, while the final match of the tournament will be of 20 overs a side. The prize money for securing first place in the tournament has been fixed at Rs 21,000, while the prize money for second place has been fixed at Rs 11,000.
On this occasion, senior Akali Dal leader and elder brother of late Vicky Middukhera, Ajaypal Singh Middukhera said that Vicky had always been interested in sports and that the tournament is a tribute to his memory. The Foundation before this too honored players by organizing cricket tournaments and will continue to organize tournaments in different games in future also.
