Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh celebrated World Social Justice Day at its campus. A Seminar was organized on the awareness and importance of world social justice day in which Dr. (Prof) Paramjeet Singh, Dean Faculty of Law & Dean Academics, Punjabi University Patiala was the Chief Guest; Dr. (Prof) Varinder Kumar Kaushik, Head of Department in Punjab School of Law, Punjabi University, Patiala; Dr. Bharat, Assistant Professor, University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh were the Guests of Honour on the occasion.
Function started with the Lamp lighting ceremony on the occasion. Students and staff of LL.B and BA-LL.B of Aryans participated in the function. Prof. B.S Sidhu, Director, Administration, Aryans Group presided over the function.
Dr. (Prof) Parmjeet Singh while speaking said that Social justice is based on the values of fairness, equality, respect for diversity, access to social protection and the application of human rights in all spheres of life, including in the workplace. “Without the revival of ethical manners in India society Social Justice can’t be achieved” Parmjeet added.
Dr. (Prof) Varinder Kumar Kaushik said that injustice exists more frequently in other forms, such as poverty, hunger, worker exploitation, severe restrictions on women, child labour etc. The fight for social justice never ends. Social justice is an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within the individuals and among nations.
Dr. Bharat while speaking said that social justice can be achieved when social conditions such as universal human rights are recognized and upheld, without discrimination, for every individual, group and community. “Everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities” Bharat added.
