Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Chandigarh in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) is organizing a three days Yuva Sangeet Utsav at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh from May 21 to 23, 2018.
On the first day of the festival, beautiful presentation of classical music was rendered by Dr. Divakar Kashyap and Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap, who is the disciple of Pandit Rajan Sajan Mishra. The program started with the song Puriya Dhanashree. First of all, they made a presentation, the words of Bandhis were ‘Dharat Hoon Dhayan, Nis Din Tumro’, which was highly appreciated by the audience. After that they performed the famous rhythm ‘Payaliya Jhankar Mori Jhanan-Jhanan Baje Jhankar’ in the Teen Taal. After that, they presented the Bandis in Teen Taal based on Raga Madhu Kaus ‘Pag Paajnia Bazein Runak-Zunak Zhan-Zhan’. After the Raga Madhu Kaush, they presented Thumri in the Raga Pahadi, whose words were ‘Tumre Bin Sainya Kate Nahi Ratiyan’. The program concludes with the famous Bhajan ‘Dhanya Bhag Sewa Ka Awsar Paya’ in Raga Bhairavi, a composition of Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra. The famous singing of the Banaras Gharana fully seen in today’s programme. The audience enjoyed the performances of Alapchari, Bol-Bant, Layabadh Tanein, Bol-Taan etc.
Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, NZCC, Patiala was the Chief Guest on the said occasion. Sh. Kamal Arora, Chairman, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Guru Shobha Koser, Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and other dignitaries were also present on the said occasion.
