Students of the Continental Institute of Engineering & Technology (CIET), brought laurels to the Continental Group by winning as many as nine medals i.e. four gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the recently concluded Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) Bathinda’s second Inter-College Athletics Meet. In this meet Mr. Gautam Singh of CIET won two gold medals by setting new inter-college meet records in the ‘Triple-Jump’ and ‘Long-Jump’ events, he and was pronounced the ‘best athlete’ of the meet. Executive Director Dr. RK Sharma congratulated the winning students for this marvelous achievement.
Mr. Manpreet Singh of MBA won 1 Gold in ‘Discus-Throw’ and 1 silver in ‘Shot-put Throw’. It is heartening to tell that he won two gold-medals in these events last year. Ms. Ramanjeet Kaur of B.Tech.won her individual gold in ‘Discus-Throw’ and created meet-record. Mr. Amanpreet Singh of B.Tech. bagged two silver medals in 5000m and 10000 m races. Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur of B.Tech.earned two bronze medals, including one in 3000 m race. While speaking on this occasion Dr. RK Sharma said that the college believes that sports provide a healthy outlet to channelize the extra potential of students in a positive manner. This doesn’t just happen; it comes from all the hard work and effort that our students put into achieving success. The group management ensures to provide one of the best sports infrastructure facilities to its students. The students have been displaying their sporting power by participating in and winning various sports competitions with unbridled enthusiasm. Principal (CIET) Prof.
