“Koee Jachdi Na Thaan” is a rabaabi ballad with simple earthy words written and composed by Daler Mehndi. The song expresses a forlornness of a lover, a seeker who is restless, to whom nothing, no place brings peace.
The wandering lover is not satiated with anything, no beautiful surroundings, glitter and glam of the world don’t charm him but is yearning for a glimpse of his lover. Composed to the notes of Indian Classical Raag, Raag Maalgunji, this monsoon love ballad’s lyrics are sans a sophistication of a rhetoric but have all the yearning and melody to strike at the listener’s heart.
The song is arranged by the very talented Babloo Kumar(of Bolo Ta Ra Ra, Dangal, Dilwale fame), on Tabla is Ustad Ramjoo Bachhaan (Indian Cinema’s only and leading Dhol Maestro), and is mixed and mastered by Aakash Jaitly at the DM Folk Studio which has recently been in limelight with its path breaking chat shows anchored by Daler Mehndi with India’s leading and legendary artists like ghazal maestros Ustad Ahmed Hussain, Mohammed Hussain , and Pakistani legendary artists like Imtiaz Ali, Hussain Bukhsh Gullu.
In the past when music industry had the culture of releasing full albums – each Daler Mehndi album boasted of a ballad. “Jehre Dil Nu Pyare”, “Kitey Sun Ve Mahiya”, “Dhol Mahiya”, “Sajna Sathon Duur Na Jaavin” are a few from this genre, “Ru Ba Ru” from Maqbool, “Kajra Re” from Chupke Se , “Doha” from Happily Unmarried fall in this style of mid octave, slow paced ballads.
The Artist has released such a ballad “Koee Jachdi Na Thaan” after a very long time.
