50,000 candidates appears in CLAT-2017 today

Around 50,000 candidates from all over the Country have appeared in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) today on 138 centres in 65 different Cities in India. The exam is being conducted by Chanakya National Law University, Patna for the admission in 2200 seats in 18 National Universities of Law in India.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans College of Law, Chandigarh said that keeping in view the interest of students in legal studies, Aryans has also launched a special scholarship helpline for law aspirants. Dr. S.P Singh, Convener, CLAT & Registrar, Chanakya National Law University, Patna  while giving information of the centres said that in North India around 3827 students appeared in  various centres including Chandigarh, Mohali, Amritsar, Patiala, Jalandhar, Shimla, Kurukshetra, Hisar, Jammu, Srinagar. Singh further said that in total over 5000 students more have applied in 2017 than the last year in CLAT-2017.

Kataria further added that in North India, Chandigarh has become the destination for the students of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, J&K etc. He further said that near Chandigarh Periphery 1000-1200 seats are available against over 8000-9000 interested students.

Special measures were taken at the exam centres wherein electronic gadgets including Mobile Phones, calculators etc were not allowed inside exam hall. Students were asked to bring their ID proof along with the roll numbers while disabled students got extra 40 mins to solve the exam.
