The Valedictory function of Seven Day NSS Camp was organized in Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh today. The camp was organized from 1st, Feb. to 7th Feb.,2021. More than 150 volunteers participated in the camp. The theme of the camp was “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jal Shakti Abhiyan”. The volunteers participated in various activites such as Cleanliness Drives, COVID-19 (Awareness & Prevention) Rallies, Female Health & Hygiene door to door campaign. The volunteers organized interactive sessions by eminent speakers from diverse fields such as Health Department, FSSAI, Nutrition Department, Cyber Bullying and Fire &Safety department. Students also visited the adopted village Khuda Jassu and interacted with the residents and took out COVID-19 awarness & prevention rallies.
The main highlight of the Valedictory function was the presence of NSS Volunteer Latika Bhardwaj who represented the college and the city NSS Cell in the 72nd Republic Day Parade held at Rajpath, New Delhi. She motivated the Volunteers and made a presentation on her journey of being part of the Republic Day Parade.
Principal Prof. Anita Kaushal, was the chief guest for the valedictory function. She motivated the students to work in harmony for community service and stressed on the need of water conservation and advocated to use water wisely. She congratulated and felicitated Latika on bringing laurels to the college and City NSS Cell. Prof. Kaushal applauded the efforts of the volunteers for their untiring efforts throughout the camp and congratulated Dr. Karun Lekha, NSS Coordinator and Program Officers, Dr. Salil Sharma & Dr. Pallavi Mishra.
Ms. Shruti Atwal was declared the best camper.
