Allen Chandigarh student Mehak Arora repeated history for the institute by capturing AIR-31 in NEET 2018 to become the Tricity topper of NEET 2018.
This year NEET was conducted by CBSE on May 6. This national level exam is conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS programs. About 13 lac students appeared in NEET 2018 this year.
Mehak Arora secured 671 marks out of 720 while also scoring 92.2 % in class 12 CBSE board exams. She aims to study MBBS from AIIMS Delhi. Mehak, a KVPY and NTSE scholar, was also selected for the second stage of both Biology and Chemistry Olympiads. She was amongst the top 1% selected students in Physics Olympiad. It is noteworthy that ALLEN Chandigarh students have secured 4 ranks in top 100.
The list includes Parul Berry AIR 47 scoring 666 marks, Sagar Mishra AIR 49 once again a KVPY and NTSE Scholar who cleared the stage -1 of Biology Olympiad scoring 666 marks, Prabhjot Singh AIR 83 scoring 657 marks. Adhish Beri, who is also the CBSE class 12th Tricity topper with 97.2% marks obtained 387th All India rank. A press conference was organised at the Sector 34 campus of ALLEN where these toppers and their family members interacted with the media.
According to the Center head of ALLEN, Mr. Pushkar Rai, who is also an expert in Chemistry revealed that these students are sincere and obedient who diligently followed all the instructions given to him in letter and in spirit. They are keen observers, and have tremendous interest in conceptual thinking, never wanting to indulge in rote learning. Even in the most archetypal situations, they prefer relational thinking over mugging up and this became their key to success.
