PAN INDIA HEALTH AWARENESS CAR RALLY FLAGGED OFF FROM CHANDIMANDIR

A team consisting of nine doctors, led by Col Prashanth Pandit and Col (Mrs) Pradhi Nambiar are on a Pan-India “Health Awareness Car Rally”,  part of the 12th Army Medical Corps Reunion and 54th Biennial Conference, was flagged off from the Command Hospital, Western Command, Chandimandir, by Maj Gen Manmoy Ganguly, MG Med HQ Western Command. This has been organized under the aegis of Director General Medical Services (Army) and was initially flagged off on 14th Mar from Delhi. This will culminate in Lucknow on 7th Apr  (“World Health Day”) covering a distance of 6,500 kms by road, in five Gypsy vehicles.

The team visited Chandimandir on15-16 Mar and delivered talks on “Organ Donation”, “Metabolic disorders” and “Anemia”. This was followed by a “Screening Camp” to detect Anemia and Metabolic disorders.The event was graced by Mrs Ginny Singh, the Vice President AWWA, who inaugurated the medical camp. Over 500 personnel and their families pledged their organs for the Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA). The team was also felicitated by Lt Gen Surinder Singh, GOC-in-C Western Command and a memento was presented to the team by Lt Gen IS Ghuman, the Chief of Staff, Western Command.
