Maharishi Dayanand Public School celebrates Green consumer Day

The Eco Club of Maharishi Dayanand Public School, Daria, Chandigarh organized exhibition  on  a Green Consumer Day  with collaboration of the Environment Department  of Chandigarh on the school premises today. Students expressed their feelings  by presenting models on clean environment and about global warming caused by cutting of trees. They stressed to grow more trees for balancing of environment.

They told  through models that everyone should purchase products that are eco-friendly. Products with little or no packaging, products made from natural ingredients and products which are made without causing pollution are eco-friendly products. The green consumer should drive a hybrid vehicle; buy products made with hemp or those made from recycled materials.

Students made modes on water Dispenser, Clean Environment, Pollution Free Environment, Damage to Water Pollution, Vacuum Cleaner, Cleanliness Campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Save Trees, Solar System, Volcano, Forest, Wild Life, Way of Safeguarding Water Storage, the use of wind energy and so on.  Tanvi received  first prize in order to present the best model on save trees.  Soni and Anand in a model based on water harvesting got second award.  Sahil stood third for best performance on the water dispenser model. Bunish and Sunny got  consolation prize for the model based on Volcano.  Jasan, Akshay and Harpreet were also honored with consolation for  water purifying.

Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar gave away prizes to the winners. He told that the main aim of this program was too aware the importance of recycling-reusing and reducing waste material.
