Sudarshan Walia’s ‘Surangale Mausam’ – Book on a collection of 52 poems released

The collection of 52 poems of Punjabi poet Sudarshan Walia, ‘Surangale Mausam’, was released today in Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27 here.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudarshan Walia said that, “I have been thinking of releasing this collection of poems for a long time. Earlier, another collection of my poems and three collections of ghazal collections have been released, in which the first collection of poems ‘Pehli Phuhar’ was released in 1997, ‘Bheege Mausam’ was released in 2004, The second gazal collection ‘Befire Mausam’ was released in year 2011 and the third gazal collection ‘Bebasi Dard’ was released in 2015.

Sudarshan Walia has dedicated this collection of poetry to her husband and Punjabi poet RS Walia ‘Faraz’ who has contributed immensely to the publication of this book. So far, three ghazal collections of poet RS Walia ‘Faraz’ have been released.

She further said that some readers might think this book is based on some colourful personalities but it is about life, joys and sorrows. The author said life is like weather which can change any time and just like rain brings relief, so do sorrows which follow joys.

On this occasion, Dr. Ratan Singh Dhillon attended as Chief Guest. Presided over by the President of the Kendriya Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Dr. Sarabjit Singh, along with them, Sushil Dosanj, Jagpal Walia, Kedar Nath Kedar Special Guest and Speaker Yograj, Dr. Devinderjit Kaur also attended. They lauded the poet for such wonderful collection of poems which project the reality of life.
