The 2nd day’s programme of the 31stFounders’ Week of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh, began today the 4th December 2018 the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. Students of Classes III to V, presented an entertaining cultural programme in the Morning Function and students of Classes VIII to XII presented the programme in the Evening Function.

The morning programme began with “Invocation”, – Sanvi of Class V-D of the School extending a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the parents and other guests. After this the students of the Semi Classical Dance Club of the School presented a Welcome dance. Then began the mind boggling colourful programme comprising of  Captivating Korean Caravan- a dance by the students of Class III,  Kurathi Dance – a Tamil folk dance by the students of Class IV.  Then the School Choir presented a song ‘Go Make Disciples…..’. After this the Annual Report of the Primary Classes was read out by Bharti, Ayesha & Avleen of Class V of the School.  Mr. Vijai Vardhan  IAS,  Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department, Govt. of Haryana, was the Chief Guest of this function. 9 students were awarded the Best All-round Students’ trophies for the session 2017-18 by the Founders & Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, Dr. Annie Charles Samuel and the Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh along with the Chief Guest, Mr. Vijai Vardhan  IAS,  Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department, Govt. of Haryana. The Rolling Trophy for the Best Dressed Class of the Sub-Junior Section for the session 2018 – 19 was bagged by Class V-D, The Rolling Trophy for the Best Kept Class of the Sub-Junior Section for the session was bagged by Class IV-B. The Rolling Trophy for the Most Disciplined Class of the Session was awarded to Class III-B from the Primary Section and Class V-A from the Sub-Junior Section.  Ikjot Singh of Class IV-D was awarded the Shining Star Trophy for his achievements in Skating, Armaan of Class IV-D was  awarded the Shining Star Trophy for his achievements in Fine Arts and Sugamdeep Singh of Class IV-A was awarded the Shining Star Trophy for his achievements in Theatre. Aarush of Class II-A was presented ‘Best Student Performance Award’ for the session 2018-19  by Border Less Education (BLE).

This was followed by ‘The Robin Hood – An English play by the students of Class V and ‘Enigmatic Punjab’ – a scintillating Bhangra Performance by the students of Bhangra Club (Primary) of the School.  As Finale to the programme, the students presented an item, ‘The Elements of Life’ showing that – ‘Cosmic creation begins from five elements ‘Panchbhutas’ and depicting the power of these elements. ’.

The programme was ably conducted and compered by the students of the School. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Shubhpreet, a student of Class III-B of the School and the Programme ended with the National Anthem.

The evening Programme of the 2nd day of 31st Founders’ Week of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh, began with Jinsa E. George, the Head Girl of the School extending a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, the parents and other guests. After this the School Orchestra presented some lilting numbers. Then the students of the Semi Classical Dance Club of the School presented a Welcome dance ‘The Hearts Full of  Gratitude’. Then the School Choir presented a song ‘Here I Am…..’  After this the Annual Report of the Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary Classes was read out by  Jinsa E. George, the Head Girl, Shaurya Pahuja, the Head Boy, Rose Chugh of Class X and Gunjan of Class IX.  Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav,  IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh,  was the Chief Guest of this function. 18 students were awarded the Best All-round students’ trophies & 79 students were awarded for excellence in academics, for the session 2017-18 by the  Founders & Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, Dr. Annie Charles Samuel and the Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh along with the Chief Guest, Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav,  IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh. Rev. Samuel John Memorial Rolling trophy for the Best House of the year was awarded to Keats House. The Rolling trophy for the Best House on Duty was awarded to Milton House, The Rolling trophy for the Best House in Athletics was also awarded to Milton House, Mrs. Surinder Bala memorial Rolling trophy for the best student of the school (Seniors) in cultural activities was bagged by Jinsa E. George  of class XII-A. Mrs. Poonam Bhatt Rolling trophy for the Best All-round student of the School was also awarded to Jinsa E. George  of class XII-A.

The Best Dressed Class Rolling trophy was bagged by Class VIII-C (Sr. Group-II), Class X-C (Sr. Group-I) & Class XII-D (Senior Group), The Most Disciplined Class Rolling trophy was bagged by Class VIII-A (Sr. Group-II) & Class X-B (Sr. Group-I), Class XI-B (Senior Group),  The Best Kept Class Rolling trophy was awarded to Class IX-C (Sr. Group-II),  Class X-A (Sr. Group-I)) & Class XII-B  (Senior Group). The Most Active Club of the School for the year was awarded to the Eco & Environment Club ‘Qudrat’

The Shining Star trophies for outstanding performances in various fields as mentioned, were

awarded to:  Usha Kiran (VIII-A),  Jinsa E. George (XII-A) – (Fine Arts),  Aryan Dadwal (IX-B), Rishabh Sharma (X-C) – I.T. , Aniket (IX-B), Nimrat Kaur Atwal (X-D) –  (Sports), Pratham Pal Singh (IX-D) – Music & Anshita Dhiman (X-A) – Literary Activities. V. Vinay Karthik of Class VII-D, Aryan Dadwal of Class VIII-B and Gungun Sahni of Class IX-D were presented ‘Best Student Performance Award’ for the session 2018-19  by Border Less Education (BLE).

Dr. Annie Charles. & Dr. Charles Samuel Rolling Trophy for the highest aggregate marks scored by the student of the School in the Classes X & XII CBSE Examinations conducted in March 2018 was bagged byGurpal Kaur Bhatia (Class X), who scored 97.6% marks and Vanshika Harjai (Class XII), who scored 95.4% marks They were also given a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- each.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was followed by ‘A Mid Summer Night’s Dream – An English play by the students of Classes III to X,  Semi Classical dance by the students of Semi Classical Dance Club, Scintillating Moves of Joy – a Western dance by the students of Western Dance Club, and ‘Enigmatic Punjab’ – a scintillating Bhangra performance by the students of Bhangra Club of the School.

As Finale to the programme, the students presented an item, ‘The Glorious Childhood’ with the message that – ‘Childhood should not be ruined and its innocence must be preserved’.

The programme was ably conducted and compered by the students of the School. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Shaurya Pahuja the Head Boy of the School and the Programme ended with the National Anthem.
