Trumpet Vine, a designer label by Tanu Sharma, was launched today in Amritsar. The label showcased its first collection through an elaborately choreographed fashion show hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel, with renowned actress Karisma Kapoor as the showstopper.
The fashion show was themed about the concept of women empowerment, displaying outfits that transitioned from dark to light hues, showcasing the different stages in a woman’s life, where she battles through darker times to emerge into the light. The show concluded with Karisma Kapoor, in a glamorous outfit symbolising an empowered woman.
Trumpet Vine is a contemporary label for women, whose first collection draws inspiration from different themes and crafts like – Tropical Gardens, Stripes, Marbling and traditional Phulkari. Playing with different materials like silk, satin, organ and net, the collection features a range of gowns, pre-stitched saris and anarkalis.
Speaking on the occasion, Tanu Sharma, Founder & Creative Director, said, “This collection means a lot to me. Starting this brand has given me perspective into the India market today, and helped me develop trends in both by Indian and Western designs. The collection is representative of what today’s modern Indian woman would demand for from her outfits. I’ve kept the styles classy and comfortable, yet chic, and in line with today’s trends. This is our first collection, and we are already looking forward developing more to serve today’s fashion quotient.”
Commenting on the collection, showstopper Karisma Kapoor said, “It’s a pleasure to walk the ramp as a show stopper for Trumpet Vine by Tanu Sharma. A fabulous collection of modern and Indian silhouettes. Today’s marble effect inspired attire made me feel absolutely glamorous.”
The collection will be available at the standalone store in Amritsar, which will officially open its doors on November 24, 2019.
