MINERVA CRICKET ACADEMY RECORD AN EXCITING TWO WICKETS WIN OVER DDCA DELHI IN A RAIN TRUNCATED MATCH PLAYED AT GMSSS SECTOR 26 CHANDIGARH

The early morning showers and gusty winds blew off the covers which resulted in seepage of water on the bowling run up. The match was rescheduled as a 26 over game.  Minerva Cricket Academy skipper Arslan Khan won the toss and opted to field. His move paid rich dividends as DDCA opener Manjot Kalra was snapped by Yuvraj Chaudhary off Ankit Chaudhary.  After that Hiten Dalal and Pryansh Arya added 45 runs for the second wicket before Pryansh Arya was caught by R.Batra of Yuvraj Chaudhary for 30 off 20 balls inclusive of 3 boundaries and one six.  Hiten Dalal went soon after, caught by Yuvraj Chaudhary off Dev Yadav for 43 off 43 balls inclusive of 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Sarthak Ranjan 20 off 22 balls with 3 boundaries and Vision Panchal  24 off 20 with 3 sixes were the other contributors for DDCA.  For Minerva Cricket Academy the bowling honours were shared by Yuvraj Chaudhary  4 for 38 and Dev Yadav  4 for 35.  DDCA were bowled out for 168 in 25.3 overs. 

Replying Minerva Cricket Academy scored 169 for 8 in 25.3 overs to record a two wickets win and garner 4 points while DDCA drew a blank.  Minerva Cricket Academy innings was bolstered by their skipper Arslan Khan  47 off 41 balls with 2 boundaries and 3 sixes and Sohrab Dhaliwal  51 off 31 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.  Yuvraj Chaudhary played an unbeaten cameo of 26 runs off 23 balls with 1 boundary and two sixes to see his team post to an exciting win. The bowling honours for DDCA were shared by Ajay Ahlawat 2 for 12 Ayush Badoni  2 for 30 and Vision Panchal  2 for 38. 

The TRIDENT Man of the match award was given to Sohrab Dhaliwal of Minerva Cricket Academy by Mr. Karan Avtar Singh, former Chief Secretary, Punjab.

In the last league match of 26th All India J.P Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament for TRIDENT CUP  played between PCA Colts and Bihar XI.  Bihar XI won the toss and opted to bat. They made a sound start with their opener Inderjeet and Ashwani Kumar putting on 55 runs for the first wicket before Inderjeet was trapped in front by Rohit Gulati for 27 off 33 balls with four boundaries. Ashwani Kumar became Rahul Gulati’s second victim as he was  stumped by Salil Arora for 32 off 49 balls with 4 boundaries.  Sachin Kumar was the other main contributor with the bat scoring 31 off 40 balls with 3 boundaries. The bowling honours for PCA Colts were shared by Rohit Gulati  4 for 25 and Jass Inder Singh 3 for 24.  Bihar innings ended at 139 in 40.2 overs.

Replying  PCA Colts scored 143 for 2 in 23.4 overs to record a facile 8 wicket win.  PCA Colts pocketed 4 points while Bihar XI drew a blank.  Prabhjot Singh unbeaten 50 off 65 balls with 4 boundaries and one six and Pukhraj Mann  38 off 38 balls with 6 boundaries and one six put on 81 runs for the first wicket in 12.2 overs. Thereafter Salil Arora 20 off 28 balls with one six helped PCA Colts to cruise to an easy win. For Bihar XI Sachin Kumar 2 for 24 was the most successful bowler.  Rohit Gulati of PCA Colts was awarded the TRIDENT man of the match award by Mr. Vivek Atray, former Dy. Commissioner, Panchkula.

The league stage finished today and tomorrow the knock out stage semi finals will be played between HPCA and CAG DELHI at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh  and Ranstar Cricket Club Delhi and UPCA at  GMSSS Sector 26 Chandigarh. All the matches will start at 9.00 a.m.  

Mr. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director Sports, U.T. will inaugurate the semi final between RANSTAR CRICKET CLUB DELHI AND UPCA at GMSSS Sector 26, Chandigarh.

The final of the 26All India J.P. Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament for TRIDENT CUP is slated to be played at I.S. Bindra Cricket Stadium, Mohali.  Mr. O.P. Soni , Minister of Medical Education & Research will be the Chief Guest.
