PRAKRITI-The Environment Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh under National Green Corps Programme celebrated World Health Day on 07th April, 2022. The theme of the day was “Our Planet Our Health”. On this Occasion a lecture cum presentation was delivered by Dr. Sangeeta Mehatni , Incharge- PRAKRITI & Head of the Chemistry Department of PGGCG-11. In her talk she spoke about Health which not only means bodily wellbeing but also mental and social wellbeing. She said Health, according to World Health Organization, is fundamental to human happiness. It also contributes significantly to economic advancement, since healthy people live longer and are more productive. She also said that this year’s theme aims to direct global attention towards the wellbeing of our planet and the humans living in it.
An Intra College Poster Making Competition was also organized in which about 50 students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. This was followed by a pledge by the faculty members and students to keep our planet safe so that we can live healthy and long. The pledge was administered by the Principal of the College Prof (Dr.) Anita Kaushal. Also present on the occasion was Dean Mr. Ajay Sharma and Dr. Sadhana Verma Co-Convener of PRAKRITI.
